Chung died of gunshot wound to the head

THE niece of Brian Chung, 41, of 79 Da Silva Street, Newtown Kitty, Georgetown was yesterday assisting the police with investigations following his execution on Thursday night at his home. When the Guyana Chronicle visited the home, the police showed up and asked her to accompany them to the Kitty Police Station for questioning.
His sister, Joanne Chung, told the Guyana Chronicle that she was not at home when her brother was killed.
She rushed to her home after receiving a phone call and saw her brother lying under the house.
She said he could hardly speak and could not say who shot him. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital and died soon afterwards.
Chung lived on the lower flat of the two-storeyed wooden building and sold Rastafarian food, while his sister and niece lived on the top flat of the building.
Neighbours did not see the men entering Chung’s house Thursday night, but after they heard the gunshot, they observed them hurriedly leaving the scene on a motorcycle which was parked nearby on the road.
Chung was shot at close range. He died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
