THE People’s Progressive Party (United Kingdom Branch) congratulates Cde Donald Ramotar on his success to lead the PPP into the 2011 General Elections.
At the same time, the Branch wishes to commend Cde. Ramkarran, Cde. Teixeira and Cde. Rohee for their thoughtful initiative to support Cde. Ramotar. It shows the strength that can come out from the vibrancy of the working class PPP which is full with leaders of the highest calibre.
Having being singled out from a group that have decades of experience in the field of democratic politics, this decision testifies the excellence of Cde Ramotar. It leaves no doubts that he is the fittest person to lead the PPP in the presidential race.
His choice may bring shivers into the camps of the opposition presidential hopefuls; and rightfully so because of his clean record. When Guyana was moving from crisis to crisis, it was Cde. Donald who held the Party in Government together and achieved internal unity of the PPP. He is respected and is someone who is approachable by the community.
The PPP (UK Branch) is confident that Cde. Donald’s qualities, as well as his background, distinguish him from the other presidential hopefuls and qualify him to be the future President of Guyana.
