THE inaugural MACORP Tennis Open which is the first major tournament for the year, organised by the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA), serves off this Friday at the Pegasus Hotel courts and will last for two weeks.
The Open is expected to attract the best of local talent in both the Junior and Senior categories and MACORP, which is the only authorised Caterpillar dealer in Guyana  views its sponsorship of sports as one way of contributing as a corporate entity, while being pleased to be associated with the development of tennis.
The categories listed for competition are: Men’s Open Singles, Women’s Open Singles, Men’s Open Doubles, Ladies’ Open Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Boys Under-18 Singles, Girls’ Under-18 Singles, Men’s Over-35 Singles, Men’s Over-45 Singles, Men’s Over-35 Doubles, Men’s Over-45 Doubles and Men’s Over-55 Doubles
