I AM writing in response to a letter written by one Ms. Ebony Narpatty titled ‘Camouflaging expenses at No. 63 Beach’ that was published in the Chronicle on March 28. I am currently a visitor from Canada staying with relatives who reside in Springlands and we have visited Number 63 Beach twice since I have been here.
As such, I was shocked to read about the allegations made by Ms. Narpatty about the facilities on the beach.
I wish to point out that while it seems that Ms. Narpatty may have some issues with the Tourism Ministry and the facilities at the beach, I do not think that her statements are justified.
On my recent visits to Guyana and more specifically to the Number 63 Beach, I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements and I must admit that the structures that my family and I utilised while we were there were adequate with enough space to rest our bags as well as other personal items.
I must commend the Ministry of Tourism for paying an avid interest in Number 63 Beach, enough to at least improve the dwelling area.
There are enough facilities for quite a number of visitors to the beach who do not have vehicles of their own to sit in or who prefer to relax under these benabs.
I hope that this clears up any doubts that may have been developed in the minds of the readers as a result of Ms Narpatty’s letter.
