WILLIAM Hunte, 54, who was charged with malicious damage to property since October 15, 2009, made another court appearance yesterday. But Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton put him on bail although he pleaded guilty, because Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said she still did not have the case file.
Defence Counsel Jerome Khan stated that Hunte has been attending court from the time the charge was instituted but, on each occasion, the police file was never available and the defendant entered a guilty plea because he wished to have the matter concluded.
The allegation against Hunte said he, unlawfully and maliciously, damaged a $26,000 cellular phone, property of Noreen Mendoza.
The magistrate put the defendant on $10,000 bail until today.
