Two remanded on illegal guns, ammunition charges

DAMION Allicock, 21, was yesterday remanded to prison on charges of illegal possession of a gun and ammunition. The defendant (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the offences, particulars of which said, on March 25, he had a .32 pistol and 11 live matching rounds without licences for them.
Allicock was one of two men refused bail on similar charges in the same court.
The other, Dustin Jackson, 32, of Lot 226 Garnett Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, denied that, on March 26, he had a .32 ‘Taurus’ pistol and a .32 revolver, with 38 live rounds without licences.
He pleaded not guilty, too, to having 700 grammes of cannabis (marijuana) and 40 grammes cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
All the cases were transferred to another court for tomorrow.
