Warner stands unopposed for sixth CONCACAF term

PARIS, France  – Trinidadian Jack Warner is to stand unopposed for a sixth term as president of CONCACAF, the Central American Football Confederation, the organisation announced overnight Thursday on its website.
Warner, currently also a FIFA vice-president, will be re-elected at the CONCACAF Congress in Miami on May 3, a month before FIFA holds its own congress to deternine whether to keep Sepp Blatter in the post of president which he has occupied since 1998 or else elect Asian Football Confederation head Mohamed Bin Hammam of Qatar.
“I am honoured by the trust placed in me by our members,” said Warner, who was originally elected President of CONCACAF in 1990. “I thank each one of them for allowing me to continue working on their behalf.” (Yahoo Sport)
