Police Commissioner hospitalized

POLICE Commissioner Henry Greene, who fell ill yesterday morning in the mining town of Linden, was up to yesterday afternoon still warded at the privately-operated Balwant Singh Hospital in the city.

The Top Cop was initially rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) but was subsequently taken to the private medical institution.

Commissioner Greene was reportedly in the mining town yesterday morning to officiate at a Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) activity.

A source told the Guyana Chronicle that the Top Cop, who late last year had to be admitted to the Caribbean  Heart Institute (CHI) located in the compound of the GPHC, suffering from a heart ailment, may be forced now to take some much-needed rest.

There has been no dispatch of the Top Cop’s illness, the nature of the illness, and who will be deputizing in his absence, from the Force’s Public Relations Department.
