STEVE Headley, an unlicensed driver of Lot 29 North Haslington, East Coast Demerara, who said that he only took a minibus for a short spin after the contracted driver “took too long to come”, was given two traffic violation charges by police who arrested him during a routine traffic stop.
Seated in the docks and seemingly well aware of his fate, Headley was called upon by Magistrate Shurdell Isaacs-Marcus at the Vigilance Magistrate’s court to plead to the offences which alleged that he drove a minibus while being an unlicensed driver, followed by another charge for breach of insurance.
He pleaded guilty to both offences and was fined a total of $50,000.
