One in quartet jailed for drug trafficking

ONE man, in a quartet charged with drug trafficking, pleaded guilty yesterday and was sentenced to three years imprisonment. In addition, Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry fined Raymond Mohamed $30,000.
He had been on a joint charge, with Leroy Adams, Shawn Persaud and Charles Barrow (no addresses given).
Particulars of the offence said the defendants were in possession of 129 grammes cannabis (marijuana) for the purpose on March 17.
The other three pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison until March 22.
