UNIVERSITY of Guyana (UG) economics student Devon Baptiste was granted $40,000 bail yesterday, on a larceny from the person charge. The 19-year-old pleaded not guilty, before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, to having on March 14, stolen a $30,000 cellular phone from Khadella Robinson.
The case will be called, again, on April 12 but, until then, the defendant must report to Brickdam Police Station on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
