PNC presidential hopeful, David Granger, has unleashed a stinging verbal attack on the President, Bharat Jagdeo.
Is it fair game? Yes. But, Mr. Granger should not be given a free pass about his role during the PNC’s days in office. He (Granger) admitted at his own party’s press briefing to the ills which happened 38 years ago. Granger said, “What he (Bharat Jagdeo) needs to do is deal with these problems but he cannot deal with these problems when he goes to Babu John so he creates an old problem existing 38 years ago which he didn’t even know about.” This statement is evidence of Mr. Granger’s knowledge of the PNC’s life in office.
As a former commander and ally of former president, Forbes Burnham,, Mr. Granger’s best bet as a credible presidential candidate must be to speak on the matter of concerns that dogged his professional reputation, such as rigging of elections, Guyana’s bankruptcy, philosophy of bullyism in the party’s politics, poor economic governance, and most of all, destroying the dreams of a generation of Guyanese. The military was an integral part of those 28 barbaric years.
Let Granger speak of concerns surrounding his professional career
