Collaborative housing schemes for Tapakuma, Capoey

TOSHAO of Tapakuma, Ms. Doreen Jacobis has announced that Government, in collaboration with Food for the Poor Guyana Inc. (FFP), will construct 50 houses in her Amerindian village.
She said work has already started to clear the site for the project and very excited residents are loud in praise of the undertaking.

Jacobis said residents of Tapakuma have been contracted to cut and supply wooden materials for the construction and Capoey, another Amerindian community, will also benefit from 50 houses.
People’s National Congress Reform-One Guyana  (PNCR-1G) Councillor, Mrs. Marva Bowen expressed thanks for the collaborative consideration of  the villages for the projects.
She said the demand for housing, by poor people, will be less on Government as a result of the undertakings, being funded by a church organisation in the United States (U.S.) through FFP and slated for completion by June.
