A COMMON law couple, guilty of assaulting each other, were yesterday bonded to keep the peace for one year.
In addition, Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin, at Vreed-en-Hoop Court, West Coast Demerara, fined the woman, Tiffany Edwards, $10,000 with the alternative of one month imprisonment.
The other defendant put on probation was Esron Garraway, who admitted that, on March 6, they were at their Jetty Squatting Area, Vreed-en-Hoop home when they became involved in an argument.
Police Sergeant Sherwin Matthews, prosecuting, said Garraway became annoyed and dealt Edwards two blows to the head and she picked up two beer bottles and hit him with them in his back.
Leonard Ramotar (no address given) was also placed on probation for a similar period, until March 7, 2012, after being convicted of using abusive language, on March 5, to his wife, Carlon Ramotar, at Best Foreshore, on the West Coast Demerara, as well.
