THE notoriety which has successfully been pursued in authoring the Freddie Kissoon column did not arouse in me the need to respond to any of the daily contributions appearing in the Kaieteur News, simply of my belief that any intervention will only fuel further fodder for continuing exploitation. However, I am sufficiently constrained to challenge Freddie (who I still hold as a friend) on the preposterous position adopted in claiming that “under President Hoyte democratic restoration began to take shape”. Surely, Freddie must know, like the rest of the whole wide world, that Desmond Hoyte perpetrated the most gigantic electoral fraud in the general elections of 1985, surpassing all of Burnham’s previous electoral frauds. So by what stretch of the imagination could Freddie pretend to forget this fraud or frauds on the whole of our then suffering country?
Come on Freddie, you are capable of restoring some semblance of credibility in the name and truthfulness of sanity.
Turning to Dr. Prem Misir, author of several highly touted academic books and who has over the more recent years overseen an effective public relation programme on behalf of the present Government and, I suspect, the success may now precipitate the ire of Freddie.
Obviously, the recent effort as indicated in the column of Friday March 4, 2011, is so full of venom and hatred as to render the entire effort completely useless.
Never mind to respond on the puerile and fulminating criticism on the Jagdeo and PPP/C administration. Its highly successful performance speaks volumes and is eminently demonstrative of spectacular enjoyment for the majority of the people of our once again proud Guyana.
Restoring some semblance of credibility
