PARLIAMENTARY Secretary within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport (MCYS), Steve Ninvalle, yesterday presented the community of Mahdia with a quantity of football gear which was handed over to Mahdia resident Roger Hinds to assist mainly in the development of youth football in the area. Boots, shin pads, jerseys and trunks were presented to Hinds by Ninvalle, who said the gear was provided by an overseas-based friend of his, Stanley Gittens, who is obsessed with assisting in the development of sport in Guyana.
In his thank-you remarks, Hinds lauded Ninvalle for his sterling efforts over the years in ensuring sports stay alive in the mining community and vowed that the presentation would go a long way towards revitalising the sport of football in Mahdia.
