Immigration officer sent to serve Guyanese in Barbados

AN IMMIGRATION officer has been dispatched to Barbados to address the immigration needs of Guyanese living on the island.
Police Inspector Browne, who began offering services from the Amaryllis Beach Resort Hotel, will be there until March 5, Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Elisabeth Harper said, in a release.
The visit is all part of the Guyana Government continuing to serve, as far as possible, the consular needs of Guyanese nationals in Barbados until such time as the appointment of an Honorary Consul is made, the release added.
Such an arrangement has been a regular exercise since the passing of Mr Norman Faria, who was the Honorary Consul for Guyana in Bridgetown.
