LEORY De Agrella, whose wife, Nalini De Agrella jumped off the Demerara Harbour Bridge (DHB) to her death early Tuesday morning, was released from Police custody yesterday afternoon. He was put on bail and instructed to report daily at Providence Police Station, also on East Bank Demerara, pending further investigations into the circumstances under which the woman died.
A post mortem examination is to be performed on her body.
The corpse of the 39-year-old, of Lot 26 Independence Street, La Grange, West Bank Demerara, was pulled from the river, in Georgetown, on Wednesday morning.
The mother of five leapt from the motor car in which she and her husband were crossing the DHB, after celebrating Valentine’s Night.
Before she made the fatal leap, the two were involved in an argument, Police confirmed.
Her husband plunged into the deep but failed to save the woman to whom he was married for 23 years.
