Pit bull breeder shot dead

Police are investigating the death of Sherwin Fiedtkou, 23, who was found in a yard at North Ruimveldt, about 20:00hrs on Monday.
He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he succumbed while receiving medical treatment for a shot in the abdomen.
His mother, Simone Richards, told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday that as far she knows her son, a dog breeder, left home at about 20:30hrs to go see a pit bull in Well Street, North Ruimveldt, when he was killed.
The woman added that she received the news that her son was gunned down and by the time she reached the hospital he was in the theatre undergoing surgery.
Fiedtkou was unmarried and had no children and well known in the area where he reared and sold pit bulls for a living.
He is survived by three sisters and two brothers, some of whom were present at his residence yesterday.
A black flag was nailed to the utility pole just outside his home, as friends, neighbours and other relatives gathered discussing the incident.
