Triple- header on for today’s opener

THE St Stanislaus College Court on Brickdam will be the venue for some of the Schools’ top basketball players over the next ten days as 12 schools battle for the United Insurance Challenge trophy. The much anticipated Mashramani Invitational Schools Basketball Tournament will begin today with a triple-header.
In today’s opening game, Charlestown Secondary will match skills with Marian Academy, while the match to follow will see School of Nations opposing Plaisance Secondary and in the final fixture the highly rated Tournament favourite Guyana Educational  Trust College will meet Bishops’ High. Jump ball time for the opening game is 15:30hrs.
The four-group preliminary competition will conclude this coming Friday after 12 games and the quarter-finalists for the next day’s play will be determined.
The Championship final is set for the eve of Mashramani.
The three matches slated for tomorrow will be Marian Academy versus Brickdam Secondary, St Rose’s High against School of Nations and in the most anticipated clash Queen’s college will take on the hosts and old rivals, St Stanislaus College.
