Wounding accused remanded as victim remains hospitalised

GREGORY Anthony, of Lot 78 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, was remanded to prison yesterday after the police
prosecutor objected to him being granted bail on a felonious wounding charge.
Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, acted on the objection by Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting,
who said the victim is still hospitalised in a critical condition.
Anthony is charged, indictably, with having, on January 11, feloniously wounded Rondell Haywood, with intent to maim,
disfigure or cause him grievous bodily harm.
The prosecutor said the accused and virtual complainant were involved in an argument that resulted in a scuffle, during which
the latter was stabbed several times about his body.
The case will be called, again, on January 27.
