Police charge Meadow Bank fisherman murder accused

QUAISON Jones (no address given) was yesterday charged with the Meadow Bank, East Bank Demerara, Fish Port Complex,
murder of fisherman Marlon Greene, on Monday, January 17.
The accused appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and was remanded to prison until January 25.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the prisoner and the victim are known to each other and were involved in a
heated argument that developed into a scuffle.
The Prosecutor said Jones armed himself with a knife and stabbed green several times about his body.
But attorney-at-law, Mr. James Bond, for the Defence, told the Court that Jones was attacked by a group of men and was trying
to escape from them when Greene suffered the fatal injuries.
