Scouts Association appoints police sergeant assistant district commissioner

THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) has announced that the Scouts Association of Guyana has appointed Police Sergeant Terrance Noble as the Assistant District Commissioner-Explorer Scouts (Linden). His appointment was effective from December 1, 2010, and he will have  responsibility for assisting with the running of Explorer Scout sections and all groups within the
district and elsewhere, when called upon by the District Commissioner.

Noble was assured of the support and encouragement of all leaders within the district, when visiting the Explorer Scout sections and providing technical advice on their
operations, among other duties.

The GPF established a scout troupe within on November 05, 2009 and, presently, there are groups in Georgetown, Linden and Berbice.
Efforts are in train to have Police Scout groups on the East Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, West Demerara and Essequibo, the GPF said, in a release.
