Jai Shankar Persaud, of 147 Bar Street, Kitty, yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, on a malicious damage to property charge.
According to the facts presented, on January 17, Persaud unlawfully and maliciously damaged three window panes valued at $ 3,000, property of Francis Bristol. Persaud pleaded not guilty to the charge and was ordered by the magistrate to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
The defendant was placed on $10,000 bail and is to return to court on February 03.
