GFF inks four-year equipment sponsorship deal with Plus One Fashion

THE Guyana Football Federation (GFF) yesterday solidified a four-year deal with Plus One Fashion (+One) of the USA at a simple but significant presentation at its Georgetown Campbellville headquarters.
According to president of the GFF,
Colin Klass, the deal is valued at approximately US$350 000 annually where the company will equip its national players at all levels with equipment.
“Last year we said that we are going to sign a major deal but didn’t want to pre-empt what was really going to happen, but this is what we were talking about and I must say how happy I am on the GFF’s behalf, because we all know how the cost of equipment had us in the past. So let me say thanks to Plus One for making this come through,” Klass said.
The GFF top brass opined that “in the past, we would have the senior players not being able to exchange T-shirts after games because if that happened we wouldn’t have had any left, but now we would be able to look more like a national team and I must say that this is a huge burden that has been lifted from us and with that we are very happy”
Plus One marketing representative Donna Wilson said that her company is happy to be associated with the GFF and its programme and hopes that they both gave a long working relationship over the years.
She added that Plus One will not only be equipping the National sides at all levels, but will always make available to the GFF, replica T-shirts at wholesale prices and even market them on their (Plus One) website (www.plusoneusa.com) – a move described by Klass as “win, win” for the GFF.
“This is certainly a great deal; that’s why it took a couple of months to get off, because they also market our T-shirts on their website and more so we will have them to retail at an affordable price, because what happened in the past was people would make T-shirts of our team and then the GFF ends up with nothing from it. But again I must say we are very happy with this deal,” said the GFF boss.
Meanwhile, Wilson said that the T-shirts are of good quality and that Guyana stands to gain a lot out of her company since they see potential in the market.
“We had a lengthy discussion so that’s why the deal took so long to get off the ground because both parties wanted to make sure that the deal is just right and they both will benefit from it; so we at Plus One will make sure we live up to our end of the bargain.
“We are more than looking forward to this deal because Guyana is on a rebuilding stage and has teams at all levels. We will also be giving them balls and so on, apart from clothing,” Wilson noted.
