THE presentation ceremony for the 21st annual Kashif and Shanghai-organised knock-out football tournament which concluded on New Year’s night at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, will be held tomorrow evening from 19:00 h at the Sleep-in International Pool Side on Brickdam.
Reigning national club champions Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United defeated Pele Football Club 3-2 in a final that was later dubbed a classic by many football fans and enthusiasts, to cart off the top prize of G$2M, a trophy and a two-year kit deal valued at US$25 000, compliments of Plus One Fashions of the United States.
For their second-place finish, Pele will receive G$1M, a trophy and one-year kit sponsorship courtesy of Plus One Fashions, valued at US$10 000 while the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) who is yet to be named, will walk away with a trophy and US$1 500 worth of kit, compliments of Plus One.
A representative of Plus One Fashions will arrive in Guyana today and will be among the many representatives of the main sponsors of the tournament which include Ansa McAl Trading, Government of Guyana, Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T), New GPC, Hits and Jams TV and National Communications Network among others, who will be on hand to assist with the distribution of prizes.
