In Region Two…
TWO private companies, Jaigobin Supermarket and Caricom Rice Mills Limited are assisting students pursuing studies at the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) with foodstuff. Member of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Omesh Oditt, who is Vice-Chairman of its Education and Training Sub-Committee, said the beneficiaries are staying at the Anna Regina Amerindian Hostel and other Government buildings, also on Essequibo Coast.
At the last RDC statutory meeting for 2010, where Oditt made the disclosure on Tuesday, Regional Chairman, Mr. Alli Baksh told councillors that the Administration is, currently, preparing another building to house more hinterland students.
Baksh said he has already written to President Bharrat Jagdeo, requesting the construction of two modern dormitories for the ETI and Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA).
