RAJESH Hardat, of Lot 166 Lusignan Pasture, East Coast Demerara, was put on $75,000 bail when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday on a simple larceny charge. He pleaded not guilty to having, on December 15, stolen three 21-inch flat screen television sets, valued $105,000, property of Haresh Kumar.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the defendant was employed by the virtual complainant as a porter.
The Prosecutor said Kumar would, usually, leave the keys to his bond with the defendant so the latter could make deliveries.
The case has been postponed to January 7.
