Neesa Gopaul murder case PI resumes, adjourned

THE preliminary inquiry (PI) in the Neesa Gopaul murder case resumed yesterday before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Robert Tyndall, prosecuting, called the sixth witness, Detective Inspector Joel David of Brickdam Police Station.
After the witness was cross-examined by Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos, representing the number one accused, Jarvis Small, the proceedings were adjourned to December 28.

Small and the victim’s mother, Bibi Sharima Gopaul are charged with murdering the former Queen’s College (QC) student, between September 24 and October 2, at Madewini, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
The dead body of the 16-year-old was found stuffed in a suitcase in Madewini Creek near Emerald Tower Resort, apparently headless.
However, a post mortem examination established that the head had been battered beyond recognition.
