CHAIRMAN of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh said he is making strong recommendations, to Government, for more street lights to be installed
along the Essequibo Coast Public Road, for the Christmas season. He also announced that he is working towards securing funding for the construction of a students’ dormitory for the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) at
Anna Regina.
Baksh said the building is needed to facilitate students from Region One (Barima/Waini) who are pursuing studies at the ETI and Guyana School of Agriculture
(GSA).
He said, too, that he is focusing on opening more farm lands on the Essequibo Coast to boost the ‘Grow More Food’ drive.
Baksh disclosed that 5,000 acres aback of Riverstown/Good Hope are, currently, being developed, with the aim of starting cultivation, soon, in the fertile
agriculture scheme.
