Forensic pathologist gives cause of death
FORENSIC pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh yesterday told the judge and jury in the West Bank, Demerara Clay Brick Road murder trial that he had performed a post mortem on the body of 36-year-old Farzan Khan on 3rd February, 2008.
According to the doctor, upon external examination, he found 12 abrasions and incised wounds about the body.
He concluded that death was caused by haemorrhage and shock due to a severed carotid artery as a result of stab wounds.
The Prosecution, conducted by Latchmie Rahamat and Judith Gildharie-Mursalin, has set out to prove that Khan left a wedding house that night and was going to purchase an aerated drink when he was attacked.
Following police investigations, the accused, Lakenauth Dial, was arrested and charged with Khan’s murder.
The hearing continues on Monday.
