THE swollen corpse of a 57-year-old man, of Friendship on the Essequibo Coast, was discovered Monday morning, floating in the Pomeroon River about one and a half miles from where he lived. The deceased farmer, Hermon Boodhoo had been missing since Saturday night.
His wife, Janet Boodhoo said he was with a group of men drinking alcohol, at a shop not far from his home, Saturday afternoon.
She said she was told that her husband was returning home alone in his canoe and probably fell out of the boat, in a drunken state, causing him to drown.
However, Police are investigating the cause of his death.
