GFF Super League tournament continues today

ACTION in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League tournament continues today in the Ancient County of Berbice, with a double- header at the Blairmont Community Centre ground. In the first match which kicks off at 13:0 h, Cougars Football Club will face arch rivals Monedderlust, with Winston Benjamin, Horace Roach and Ryan Kellawan spearheading Cougars’ challenge.
For Monederlust, who became the first team from the Ancient County to compete in the Kashif and Shanghai tournament when they did so two years ago, Gladwin Johnson, Antonio Wallace and Alwyn McDonald will spearhead their charge.
The second fixture kicks off at 15:30 h and pits Rosignol United against Sunburst Camptown battling for a place in the final four of the tournament, which takes place on Sunday at either the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground or the Guyana National Stadium.
Rosignol United, who drew with national club champions Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United last Sunday, will be depending on their stars Delroy (Tugi) Fraser, Olvis (Jim Reeves) Mitchell, Garson Baker, Cornel Taylor and custodian Roncy Caleb to see them through.
Sunburst Camptown will be spearheaded by Nigel (Powers) Codrington, Lance Rolston, Rishawn Sandiford, Troy ‘Bugsy’ Prescod and custodian Maurice Prince who are all capable of seeing their team into the final four.
Admission to the venue which will be opened from 12:00 h is $500 while children under the age of 12 will be admitted free.
