IT seems like the issue of Freddie Kissoon’s drain will remain on the front burner for several more weeks. Today’s (Monday, November 15) edition of the Kaieteur News carried an entire editorial on it. One wonders why such a frivolous issue has been carried as a major news event by some sections of the media. On a very serious note, I doubt the majority of Guyanese out there honestly believe that the government conspired to attack Freddie by having D & I workers not clean the canal in front of his home. This is a far fetched and extraordinary notion than can only be fuelled by troublemakers of the highest order.
With all the burning issues unfolding in Guyana at the moment, a delay in cleaning a particular section of a waterway is entirely insignificant. Had it been anyone else, this would not have even made the news, especially since the D & I workers returned to complete the job and clear the canal.
What is so special about Kissoon that the routine cleaning of a canal is now whipped into material suitable for a Hollywood conspiracy flick?
