…. The only vegetarinan destination
THE Hick’s Ville Hotel located at 79 West Ruimveldt Estate was officially opened on Sunday with a simple ceremony attended by friends and well-wishers. The venture was blessed by Pastors Orin Bradford and Richard James.
A brief account of the genesis of the project was shared by Orin Hickerson, who also took the opportunity to impart a bit of the family history and to show its impact on the initiative.
He revealed that the idea to open the hotel evolved out of the family business of selling vegetarian products in Guyana for the past 15 years; and it is with this in mind they embarked on a two-year project to open the establishment.
“We realize there is a lot of room for growth in the hotel industry so we are taking advantage of that as well as doing our part to improve the community of West Ruimveldt” he said.
Mr. Hickerson pointed out that the establishment will feature a vegetarian restaurant to cater to the direct needs of their guests who will be a part of the “only vegetarian destination” in Guyana.
“Health conscious persons can feel welcome to come here and enjoy a delicious meal prepared in the appropriate way,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to all of the supporters and to the Government of Guyana for encouraging the growth of small businesses in the country, which will ultimately lead to economic expansion.
The newly opened facility has a 20 room capacity and offers a view of the Demerara River from its roof garden.
“We are opening our doors to persons who are looking for a unique experience and we are doing so in the Christmas season to take advantage of the many tourists who will here,” Hickerson emphasised.
After the official opening ceremony the guests were invited to tour the facility.
