Burglars strike thrice on Essequibo Coast

BURGLARS struck thrice on the Essequibo Coast last week and among the places hit was the Life Springs Ministries Church.
Reports said amplifiers, microphones and several other pieces of electronic equipment were stolen eight days ago (on the night of Friday, October 29).
It was the second such loss suffered at the place of worship, from where the booty comprised similar things, earlier this year.
No one lives in the compound and there are no security guards posted on the premises.
Another burglary was committed at Devonshire Castle that same night.
Barbara Persaud discovered, around 02:30h Saturday morning, that chicken, rice and chocolates had been stolen from her house.
The woman said that she saw a man running away from the building and later observed that the place had been ransacked, after entry was gained by removing wooden bars from a window.
Barbara was also robbed during the early part of this year, as well.
The other place broken into last week was Danielstown Post Office and investigating Police are still trying to ascertain what was taken.
