RYAN Brown (no address given) was yesterday sentenced to three years imprisonment, on conviction for two armed robberies.
Magistrate Fazil Azeez convicted him of having, on October 30, being armed with a knife, robbed Ramnarine Mohan of a $30,000 sliver chain and Anisha Adams of a handbag, valued $3,500, in booty worth a total of $120,000.
The prisoner had pleaded not guilty to both charges but, when the virtual complainant was called into the courtroom, Brown The robber said, after he grabbed Mohan’s chain, Adams shouted and held on to his jersey.
Brown started to cry and the magistrate told him to sit and decide on his plea and he, subsequently, pleaded guilty to the separate charges.
He was given separate sentences that will run concurrently and he would only serve three years.
