Mini-bus driver fined for assaulting another

MINI-BUS driver Imran Baksh (no address given) was yesterday fined $25,000 with the alternative of one month imprisonment on conviction for assault.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he pleaded guilty, admitting that, on October 25, he unlawfully assaulted Naresh Ramdat so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the defendant called out passengers from the virtual complainant’s bus and, during an argument that ensued, Baksh cuffed the other man several times.
