AN Inquest into the death, nine years ago, of eight-year-old Troy Hughes, of Lot 49 Stanleytown, Greater New Amsterdam, Berbice, has found that the driver of lorry, GEE 8341, Heralall Narsaiah, was culpable.
The verdict was delivered by a three-member jury, who sat with Coroner Omeyana Hamilton, at New Amsterdam Court.

The jurors, having deliberated for about 30 minutes, concluded that the grade four student died on September 3, 2001, after the vehicle, laden with some 300 cases of aerated drinks, ran over him and rendered him unconscious.
The injured boy was taken to New Amsterdam Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cargo of beverages was being transported to Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) bond at Mudflat, Stanleytown, according to evidence led by Police Corporal Roberto Figuiera.
Before the inquiry that ended on Monday, however, Narsaiah was prosecuted.
