Accused absent, Razack murder case postponed again

THE accused, Carolan Lynch was absent, again, yesterday when the murder case in which she is charged, a second time, with killing her Swiss House Cambio boss husband, Farouk Razack, was called.
Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry enquired why Lynch was not present in Court and, from the witness box, a policewoman swore that she went to her home and called but got no response.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, requested another postponement and asked that a date be set for report because Lynch will have to be warned to make an appearance.
The Prosecutor said Lynch was not given a warning to attend Court and is, therefore, not aware of the case.
The magistrate granted the adjournment until November 9.
Lynch was first charged with the unlawful killing in May 2007 but was freed the following year after then Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys ruled that a prima facie case had not been made out against her.
Razack was found dead on the floor of their Eping Avenue, Bel Air Park, Georgetown home, bleeding through his nose and mouth and his hands at his neck.
An autopsy established that he had been strangled.
