We, the members of the GAPA farmers group in Saint Cuthbert’s Mission, would like to extend our gratitude to the Hon. Minister of Agriculture Robert Persaud for his visit and recognition of our farmers during the recent observance of World Food Day.
Also, many thanks to all the wonderful visitors, including FAO representative to Guyana, the Minister of Amerindian Affairs, farmers and other invited guests.
We, the farmers, would like to express our appreciation to the Guyana Agricultural Producers Association (GAPA) for the support given to farmers and for establishing a drip irrigation demonstration plot to assist farmers and students of the village. Farmers and residents are truly excited with this new technology to expand agricultural activities.
Residents of Saint Cuthbert’s Mission feel very privileged to be hosting World Food Day 2010 and welcome the Ministry of Agriculture’s intervention in the sector. This activity not only stimulates but encourages farmers to continue the ‘grow more’ campaign to make Guyana food secure.
Thanks for recognizing us
