WHY I am not a believer in the death penalty for murders?
The state may end up sentencing and sending an innocent person to their death.
Most law abiding citizens in every country would love to see crimes and criminals vanished but we do not live in a perfect world where that will ever happen. Many innocent citizens of the United States of America were placed on death row for crimes they didn’t commit. If it were not for DNA these innocent people would have been put to death by the state already.
Think about it if it were you.
Taxpayers in every country pay for every government officials, institutions and projects.
Ask any working class taxpayer if they are satisfied on how government spends their tax dollars and most will tell you they are dissatisfied.
The only recourse taxpayers have is to wait until the next election to make their voices heard but then it will be back to the norm with their tax dollars.
A government in any country that is elected by its people must provide security for all its citizens in any way shape or form without exceptions.
Ask taxpayers if they won’t mind their government keeping criminals in jail for the rest of their natural life and you will get a resounding yes.
Even if someone who is innocent will still be alive and with today’s technology they could be cleared and walk out from prison a free person. Put that innocent person to death, who will be charged for murder?
Governments could cut a lot of waste projects and build bigger and better jails for criminals. Governments could put those same criminals to work to clean up their respective countries.
Taxpayers will pay for chains for criminals to be chained together while they do the work of cleaning up.
In the case of Guyana it seems killers will continue to kill especially wife killers because they know they can walk in a court room and plead not guilty.
They then know once they have no other choice, will be convicted and they will then plead to lesser count of manslaughter knowing they will only receive eight years jail.
All murderers except in the case of self defence who are found guilty by a court of law must be sentenced to life behind bars with no chance of parole.
In Guyana the laws must be very tough on even the common pick pockets who rule the streets.
They are the ones who graduate to putting guns and knives to your face to rob the unsuspecting citizens.
Ask the law abiding hard working class taxpayers if government spends their tax dollars to rid society of criminals and they will say a resounding Yes.
Innocent people could be sentenced to death
