ALFRED Morrison, of Lot 46 Kuru Kururu, along Soesdyke/Linden Highway, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday on two fraud charges. He pleaded not guilty to both, one of which said, on July 1, 2008, with intent to defraud, he obtained $150,000 from Janelle Downer, by falsely pretending that he was the owner of a plot of land at Kuru Kururu and in a position to sell it, knowing that to be false. 
The other allegation against him said, last January 12, with intent to defraud, he took $500,000 from Lloyd Slowe, by falsely pretending that he was the owner of another plot at Kuru Kururu and in a position to sell it, knowing it to be false.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, did not object to the grant and Morrison was granted $200,000 bail.
The cases have been transferred to Providence Court, East Bank Demerara, for November 1.
