Samples from under killer car still being tested

Sheema Mangar murder…
POLICE Crime Chief, Assistant Commissioner Seelall Persaud said, yesterday, that samples taken from under the motor car believed to have run over and killed Demerara Bank employee Sheema Mangar, are still being tested.

He said some blood, also removed from under the vehicle, is still lodged in Police custody and will undergo DNA testing that is to be done overseas and may take a while.
Meanwhile, Persaud said the suspect, who was arrested following the murder, has been released on bail as the investigations continue.
Mangar, 21, of Lot 675 Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, succumbed to her injuries at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, on September 11, after having been robbed of her cellular phone while waiting, at the corner of North Road and Camp Street in Georgetown, on September 10 for transportation home.
It was reported that a man snatched her ‘Blackberry’ and she stood in front of the car which the robber entered but the vehicle hit and dragged her several feet before it was driven away.
Mangar was rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), from where she was transferred to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and died there.
