Caribbean Examinations Council hosts students’ forum in Georgetown

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, will be hosting a students’ forum on Monday at the Queen’s College auditorium. This event gives secondary school students from Guyana and across the region the opportunity to directly interact with the CXC.
Students will be able to raise their views and concerns about the examinations and programmes offered by CXC. This forum gives the council the opportunity to communicate with its largest audience, the students.
This activity also allows students from other Caribbean countries to follow and participate in the forum via UStream, which facilitates the live broadcast of the event from Guyana. Students can also send their comments and questions to the CXC Face Book site.
Registrar of CXC, Dr. Didacus Jules, stated that the organisation is taking a more pro-active approach in its outreach and the students’ forum is another new way of doing business. The use of the internet for live broadcast of the event also signals this new CXC paradigm.
The panel for the forum includes officials from the Ministry of Education and from the Caribbean Examinations Council.
