FORMER Guyana Welterweight Boxing Champion Andrew Lewis alias ‘Six Head’, of Lot 13-14 Hutson Ville, East Bank Demerara, has been charged with unlawful assault. He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry yesterday and pleaded not guilty, denying that, last September 9, he unlawfully assaulted Lawrence Wilkinson.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, had no objection to bail and the defendant was, originally, ordered to post $25,000 surety.
However, after Lewis claimed he cannot afford the sum, it was reduced to $10,000 and the case was transferred to another Court, for October 4.
