Clogged alleyway dumping ground for faeces, garbage

– owner expresses disgust
A CITY property owner has expressed his disgust over the fact that despite paying his taxes promptly, he is once again being forced to fork out additional finances to clean a clogged alleyway, which is the responsibility of the Mayor and City Council (M&CC).
The property is located at Lot 89 Light Street, Alberttown and the owner, Leslie Mayers, said he has previously sought the attention of officials of the Sanitation Department of the M&CC, and even penned a letter to the Office of the President to draw attention to the condition of alleyway.
Mayers said persons in the immediate vicinity of the alleyway are seemingly in the habit of using it as a toilet, as several plastic bags with faeces can be seen strewn amongst the overgrown vegetation. Garbage is also dumped there, he said.
“I at one time hired transportation to take officials from the M&CC for a first-hand look at the situation too, [and] for them to speak with residents in the immediate vicinity of the alley, but nothing seems to have changed,” Mayers lamented.

In addition to he and friends staying at the property, Mayers also accommodates overseas visitors and other persons.
Remarking that he was brought up on the old adage that “cleanliness is next to Godliness,” Mayers said it seems that some people don’t seem to want God in their lives, so they don’t mind dwelling in dirty surroundings. He reiterated that those with the responsibility for having the drainage cleaned are not doing anything either.
Mayers  is again having the alleyway cleaned, as he did in November 2008, this time at the cost  of $25, 000, and he is appealing to those responsible for the  despicable act of wantonly dumping  faeces and garbage to desist from so doing.
