GUYANESE will never feel the way they did before about grasshoppers after last night’s sumptuous feast featuring the creepy-crawly creatures as the Mexican Embassy here celebrated yet another milestone in their country’s 200 years of independence with a Food Festival that comprised such other mouthwatering delicacies, besides our winged ‘amigo’, as ‘Shrimp Broth’, ‘Chicken Tinga’, ‘Chicken Mole’, ‘Pork in Morita Sauce’, and ‘Cochinta Pibil’. The event, which also featured Mexican music and video slide shows of various Mexican sites and traditions, was held at the Pegasus Hotel, and saw among its guests members of the diplomatic community and the crème de la crème of Guyanese society.
