Gold traders murdered at Bartica

Two gold traders were Sunday found dead with their throats slit in a house at Bartica. And a large unknown quantity of the precious metal is believed to have been stolen. The killers are unknown.
Repeated efforts to contact the police commander in the area proved futile; but Regional Chairman Holbert Knights said the men were known only by their aliases- Prakash and Jai. Prakash is from West Coast Demerara and Jai is from Ruby.
The bodies were found some time after 10hrs.
The building in which they were discovered is owned by a man with whom one of the deceased had a business partnership.
Knights said the men’s throats were slit by a knife or some other sharp object.
Bartica police were waiting on a team of detectives from Georgetown before removing the bodies.
