Car dealer on $100,000 bail for false pretences charge

A 29-YEAR-OLD car dealer yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson charged with obtaining money by false pretences and was released on bail. Diane De Nobrega, of 101 Phase Two, Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge that said, on December 14, 2009, with intent to defraud, she obtained the sum of $500,000 from James Mc Pherson by falsely pretending that she was in a position to obtain a four wheel ‘Hilux’ for him.
De Nobrega was granted $100,000 bail and will return to court on October 22.
